Example of interview questions and relevant answers


1-      Can you introduce yourself?

My name is Issam Bens, I am 23 years old, I come from Morocco and I am LV2 IT technician.

2-      What are the qualifications you obtained during your education?

I was graduated from high school in the year 2010 with a Baccalaureate in Science, in the year 2012 I got my Diploma as a specialist technician in Hotel Management and recently I succeeded in passing a LV2 Computer Field technician course in Coventry City College alongside with an EMTA foundation in electronics certificate.

3-      What made you interested in this job opportunity?

I was always interested in the IT industry in generally, I always wanted to be able to work as an IT technician and test my skills and challenge myself in order to improve my abilities and learn more as well, also a big name such as DELL made me more eager to get this job with a company already with sterling reputation.

4-      Do you have any previous work experiences?

I have been through 3 different apprenticeships before in my native country (Morocco) each one of them lasted for one month, two of them were in accountancy department in two different hotels, and the last one was a quality monitoring assistant in TELDI hotel.

5-      What were the main subjects you learned about in your IT technician course?

We have studied different modules including fault finding, software installation, networking, computer systems, electronics, CISCO IT essentials, working and the IT and communication in the IT.

6-      What are the general attributes and skills you have that make you think you can handle this job?

The attributes and skills which I think they will help me handle the job is my excellent work organisation skills as well as my great since of time management that allows me to do much work in less time with a lot of flexibility. Another attribute I developed from my studies in hotel management is communicating verbally and by writing with excellence and the ability to work in a team in terms of contribution and leadership, I am good also in problem solving and being discipline and committed at all times.

7-      Tell me more in depth about any IT hardware-related fault to solve recently?

In the past few months we have been working in correcting few hardware faults in the classroom in our fault finding session. For instance I managed to replace a faulty CD-drive and RAM also fix faulty front USB ports using different tools such as a Multimeter, PC check CD, Power Supply Tester, and Loopbacks adapters…etc.

8-      Can you explain to me how a technician should treat a customer?

A technician is obliged to keep a highly professional attitude at all-time his customers, showing a good customer skills techniques in terms of compassion, understanding and willingness to help. Ability to handle all situation and dealing with different type of customers (angry, nervous, talkative…etc.) is necessary plus keeping in my that the main target is to have a satisfied client at the end.

9-      How do you see the future of the IT industry? And what a technician should do to keep up to date with the technological evaluation of IT systems?

IT has become an unavoidable part of every person on planet earth, so that means the demand on it will keep soaring so from this concept the future is expected to be brighter much more prospering but that will mean much more challenges in offering high quality services and keeping up with competitors, for this reason a technician should keep focus on improving his career by boosting his profile as a good worker and being determine in expanding his knowledge at all times learning about all the technology development directly associated with his job tasks.

10-   Finally, can you tell me what do you know about DELL Company?

DELL is a globally well-known multi-national company based on Texas, USA. It is one of the largest technological corporations in the world, employing more than 103,300 people worldwide; it was first created by Michael Dell at the year 1984.
